Changes in my career
Hello
everyone! Today's blog is about the changes I'd like to see in my career. The
first thing that comes to my mind on this topic is the course structure. I
strongly believe that certain courses should be included in the first semester
of university education, as they are crucial for a designer's formation.
Personally, I'd prioritize three or four of these essential courses at the
beginning of the program.
Another
aspect I'd like to change is the facilities. The building housing the Fau
(Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism) is quite old and inadequately equipped
for varying seasons. It becomes excessively cold in winter and uncomfortably
hot in summer, which can be quite frustrating.
Furthermore,
there's an issue with access to essential design software like Adobe
Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc. While these programs are indispensable
throughout our careers, we're provided with a free license for only a year.
After that, registration becomes mandatory, denying access if not completed. It
feels quite unfair, given the necessity of these tools for our education and
professional development.
Lastly,
there's a notable aspect regarding the attitude of some teachers. While it's
good to have confidence in one's expertise, there's a tendency among some
instructors to be excessively self-referential. It can become a bit
overwhelming when they consistently position themselves as almost infallible
authorities.
I hope that
you enjoy reading my experience and changes, see you!
